Kolo believes they can—and should. Their mission: to provide secure, 100% European-owned sovereign colocation infrastructure for the AI age, delivered with warm, personalized service.

After merging multiple companies, the client needed a strong brand to unify its offering and stand out in a fast-growing market. BOND created the brand strategy, identity, and name to bring everything together into one cohesive whole.

Building the brand framework. Our strategic research revealed two insights that became the cornerstones of the new brand. First, that data centers are much more than just server storage — they are catalysts for growth and key partners in success. And second, that a dedication to personalized customer service has always been — and will remain — central to the client’s approach.

We distilled this framework into a simple statement: Here, You Happen. It communicates both the core function of colocation and the aspirational ethos of the brand, reframing data centers as places where visions come to life.

A name that feels like home. Beyond its reference to colocation, Kolo is short, punchy, and welcoming. In Finnish, the word evokes cozy, enclosed spaces — perfect for a human-centric brand providing right-sized solutions for businesses, grounded in Nordic hospitality.

Building on this foundation, the brand identity uses bright, lively colors and radiating circles to represent the transmission of ideas. A central pulse propels waves outward, reflecting both growth and digital flow. This imagery positions Kolo as the point from which business visions are broadcast to the world — an emotional resonance that sets it apart from the industry’s typical focus on technology.

Technical illustrations balance the warmth and playfulness of these elements, ensuring the brand feels as confident and credible as it is human and engaging.

BOND directed a series of on-site shoots in Kolo data centers that feature employees instead of models to reinforce the brand’s open, rational, and human-centric spirit. Expressive documentary photography lends warmth, underscoring Kolo’s positioning as a welcoming, service-oriented brand.
